10th OCTOBER: During the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits, Malaysia and Singapore have made progress on longstanding bilateral issues, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced. In a 40-minute meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, they discussed unresolved matters, including airspace control, water agreements, and maritime borders.
These issues will be further addressed at the annual Singapore-Malaysia Leaders’ Retreat later this year. Both leaders, along with their ministers and delegations, are committed to finding effective solutions swiftly. Malaysia will assume the ASEAN chairmanship in 2025, as stated in Malaymail.
