MITRA Offers Scholarships for Indian B40 Students Pursuing Medical Studies

The Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA) has begun accepting applications for its Special Full and Partial Scholarship Sponsorship Programme for Medical Studies. This initiative is aimed at assisting students from the B40 Indian community who have completed the Matriculation Programme or Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) in the 2023/2024 academic year and are interested in pursuing medical studies.

P. Prabakaran, chairman of the MITRA Special Task Force Committee, announced that the programme is a collaboration between MITRA and Perdana University. Perdana University will provide full scholarships to 10 students and partial scholarships to 40 students. Additional funding will be available through the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).To be eligible, applicants must be Science stream students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of over 3.50.

This initiative is part of MITRA’s efforts to improve the socio-economic status of the Indian community through strategic partnerships with organizations as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).Interested students can obtain more information by contacting MITRA at infomitra@mitra.gov.my or by calling 011-25651513. The application period is open from December 11 to December 17, 2024 as stated in BERNAMA.
