Penang Hindu Endowments Board Honours Achievements of 2025 STPM Students

GEORGE TOWN — The Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) has officially celebrated the exceptional academic achievements of local Form 6 scholars who excelled in the 2025 STPM examinations. The event highlights a major push to recognise and foster young intellectual talent within the community.

The special ceremony brought together community leaders and educators to honour 26 outstanding students from the 2025 batch who secured a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 and above. The board extended formal commendations to the entire cohort for their dedication and academic resilience.

Perfect Scores and Financial Empowerment

Out of the celebrated group, seven top performers stole the spotlight by securing a flawless, perfect 4.00 CGPA. These elite scholars received the coveted Best Student Award alongside special accolades from the board.

PHEB leadership emphasized that they view education as the ultimate catalyst for life transformation and a brighter future. Driven by this belief, the organisation continues to place the highest priority on funding scholastic growth.

To turn those principles into action, the board also disbursed RM40,800 in direct financial assistance to 44 university-level students during the ceremony. The funding helps these young adults pursue their dream degrees without immediate financial distress. This latest disbursement contributes to a larger milestone, as the board has dedicated over RM1.35 million to student welfare and educational funds since 2023.

Strong Endorsement from Community Leadership

The high-profile event was officially launched by the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Lim Hui Ying. Her presence underscored the national importance of regional grassroots educational aid and structural social support.

A distinguished panel of local officials attended the event to support the students, including PHEB Chairman RSN Rayer and Vice-Chairman Senator Dr. Lingeshwaran R. Arunasalam. They were joined by City Council of Penang Island (MBPP) Councillor Mr. Viswanathan Thangavelu.

The collective turnout from both state and local leaders reflects a shared long-term commitment to building sustainable, community-driven pathways toward high-level academic success.
