Storm Damages School Roof in Bagan Datuk

4 OCTOBER: A powerful storm swept through Bagan Datuk, Perak, causing severe damage to Sungai Pergam National School. The storm, which struck around 11:45 AM, ripped off the roofs of two classrooms and the school canteen. A parked teacher’s car was also affected. Fortunately, no students or staff were harmed.

The Bagan Datuk Civil Defence Force, led by District Officer Mohd Fazly Mohamad Zawawi, responded to the scene around 3:30 PM. Teams have since worked on assessing the damage and ensuring the school’s safety. The authorities will be providing further assistance to help restore the damaged facilities.

School officials are now focusing on clean-up efforts and planning for temporary classroom arrangements until repairs are completed. This unfortunate event follows a string of recent weather-related incidents in the region, highlighting the need for stronger infrastructure and safety measures during unpredictable weather conditions.

Local officials are urging residents to remain cautious during the monsoon season, as the potential for sudden storms remains high as stated in BULETIN TV3.
