To reduce trespassing, KTMB strengthens security measures

31 JANUARY:In order to deter future track trespassing, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is strengthening security measures by increasing the number of auxiliary police officers, especially in high-risk regions.

Mohd Zain Mat Taha, the chief operating officer of KTMB, stated that the business would work with the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) further to improve law enforcement at operational locations and guarantee rigorous adherence to safety requirements.

“This is a component of our endeavors to fortify current legislation and reduce instances of trespassing.In a statement released today, he stated, “Passenger safety and seamless train operations remain our top priorities,” alluding to the incident that interrupted KTM Komuter services last Tuesday.

He apologized for the situation and stated that more investigations are being carried out by the authorities.After running with trespassers at KM 34.734, KTM Komuter train 2110, which had left Jalan Kastam Station at 6.39am, was forced to stop operations for more than an hour. Auxiliary police officers and KTMB employees accompanied the 200 passengers who were impacted as they were taken to Klang Station.
