KUALA LUMPUR, 14 November 2025: A new, ambitious collaborative effort named ‘Program Anak Kita’ (Our Children’s Programme) has been launched in Malaysia, aiming to holistically transform the future of education and child development across the country. The programme is designed as a multi-stakeholder platform, bringing together the government, corporate sector, civil society organisations, and parents to address crucial gaps in the education system.
The core mission of ‘Program Anak Kita’ is focused on implementing targeted, measurable interventions in education, especially in areas suffering from low achievement rates and high dropout numbers. The initiative recognises that foundational skills and positive environments are critical during early childhood and early primary years.
Key Pillars of the Programme
The initiative is structured around several critical pillars, focusing on creating a supportive and effective learning environment:
- Foundational Skills Focus: Prioritising literacy, numeracy, and strong emotional intelligence from an early age to ensure students have a solid base for future learning.
- Teacher Empowerment: Providing necessary resources, ongoing training, and professional development to educators to enhance teaching quality and adaptation to diverse student needs.
- Parental and Community Engagement: Actively involving parents and the local community as partners in the educational process, recognising their pivotal role in a child’s learning journey.
- Transforming Learning Spaces: Advocating for safer, more inclusive, and technologically enriched learning environments that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
A Collaborative Model for Systemic Change
The programme leverages the strengths of its partners to create systemic change, rather than relying on isolated projects. By integrating diverse perspectives and resources, ‘Program Anak Kita’ seeks to ensure that educational reforms are sustained, impactful, and relevant to the evolving demands of the 21st-century economy. The ultimate goal is to cultivate resilient, creative, and competent citizens equipped to drive the nation’s future growth.
