GEORGE TOWN — SJKT Ramathasar has marked a major infrastructure milestone with the official opening of its new designated entrance and exit routes. The newly configured access points are designed to systematically ease traffic congestion and elevate daily safety standards for students, parents, and teaching staff.
During the launch ceremony, Jelutong Member of Parliament YB RSN Rayer unveiled a bold modernization roadmap for the campus. Rayer pledged his commitment to transform SJKT Ramathasar into the first Tamil vernacular school in Malaysia to feature fully air-conditioned classrooms across all standard learning blocks.
Rayer emphasized that providing a climate-controlled learning environment is a vital investment in student well-being, directly helping children maintain focus and improve their long-term academic performance.
Strategic Traffic Overhaul Maximizes Student Safety
The school’s newly restructured traffic flow addresses a long-standing logistical bottleneck. By establishing distinct, organized lanes for incoming and outgoing vehicles, the campus expects a sharp reduction in gridlock during high-volume morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups.
The completed traffic flow reconfiguration eliminates peak-hour congestion through these separate routes. Looking forward, the proposed full campus air-conditioning project aims to implement comprehensive climate control across all classrooms to boost student focus as part of the MP’s development initiative.
School administrators noted that minimizing vehicle idling and congestion near the main gates creates a highly secure perimeter, lowering the risk of roadside accidents for arriving students.
Long-Term Financial Support Drives Campus Excellence
This latest infrastructure upgrade is backed by consistent federal constituency support. Over his tenure as the MP for Jelutong, Rayer has channeled a total of RM400,000 in development allocations directly to SJKT Ramathasar.
These sustained funds have allowed the school board to systematically overhaul aging facilities, fund building maintenance, and execute specialized development blueprints. Local community leaders and school officials expressed optimism that these combined safety and comfort initiatives will establish SJKT Ramathasar as a model of academic and structural excellence within the state.
