SAMARAHAN – A new financial aid plan has arrived for public university students. Specifically, the Ministry of Higher Education launched the MySiswa@Job On Campus program. This major effort gives college students a safe chance to work part-time right on their own campus grounds. According to the minister, the Ministry of Finance backed this project with RM20 million in funds. Therefore, students can now earn extra pocket money in a very safe environment.
Flexible Income Options on Campus
The ministry runs this job placement scheme smoothly across the whole country. For instance, the project involves all 20 public universities in Malaysia. Additionally, the government targets 10,000 campus jobs before the end of 2026. The available roles include office work, technical help, and event planning. The team created this step so that work shifts do not mess up daily class schedules.
Meanwhile, the national launch event took place at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. Higher Education Minister Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir led the launch on the UNIMAS campus. He shared his deep concern regarding the rising cost of living for young students. Furthermore, this initiative stops students from working outside campus lines secretly. So, they can now earn cash comfortably and lawfully.
Improving Soft Skills for Graduates
This in-campus job plan also brings very big long-term rewards. For example, students learn how to speak with professionals before they graduate into the real job market. This practical experience acts as an early training ground to build self-discipline and leadership values. Because of this, the scheme gives more than just quick cash help. Instead, it strengthens the overall career readiness of local graduates.
At the same time, the UNIMAS team is building a smart digital system. This system will share job ads and process student pay claims clearly. Also, the fair pay rates should lower the heavy burden of school fees. Finally, official signups are opening in phases on each university’s web portal. The ministry hopes the MySiswa@Job On Campus program will create highly competitive graduates.
