Yayasan Hasanah Launches AI Education Grant for Malaysian Schools

KUALA LUMPUR – Yayasan Hasanah has officially opened applications for its newly launched AI Education Grant. Operating under the national Program Anak Kita (PAK) initiative, the grant aims to accelerate the responsible and productive integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across Malaysia’s public school system.

The foundation is actively inviting proposals from qualified organisations capable of designing and delivering robust AI-focused training and educational programmes. These external initiatives will focus on empowering educators within the Ministry of Education (MOE) and upgrading their digital toolsets. Specifically, the initiative aims to enhance classroom teaching standards, streamline administrative operations, and improve student performance by leveraging existing national digital tools like the DELIMa education platform.

The grant is open to technology developers, educational institutions, and non-profit organisations with demonstrated expertise in AI software and curriculum design. Applicants must submit comprehensive project proposals illustrating how their specialised technology can train local teachers and yield measurable improvements in student learning outcomes.

Interested organisations have a limited window to apply, as the submission period is scheduled to close next week on 24 July 2026.

This targeted grant represents a digital expansion of Program Anak Kita, a collaborative framework launched in September 2024 by the MOE and the Ministry of Finance. Backed by Yayasan Hasanah and Unit Pantau MADANI, PAK was originally introduced to combat post-pandemic learning gaps in primary school literacy and numeracy, assist high school students with SPM exam preparation, and lower national school dropout rates. To date, the broader initiative has reached more than 83,000 students nationwide.
