Kuala Lumpur, 16th August : There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people. The situation for Hindus in Bangladesh has become increasingly dire, with widespread violence and discrimination mirroring the crisis in Gaza.
The Hindu community in Bangladesh has faced numerous atrocities, including land grabbing, arson, murder, forced conversions, and attacks on temples. Reports indicate that around 1,500 homes have been demolished and over 50 temples targeted.
Hindus in Bangladesh have seen their population decline significantly, from 23.1 percent of the population in 1971 to 9.6 percent minorities today, Hindus about 8.7%. This decline is largely due to ongoing persecution by Islamic radicals, which has driven many Hindus to flee to India, particularly West Bengal.
Since the year 2000, Hindus have suffered greatly at the hands of extremists, with recent years seeing intensified attacks and rising communal violence, further contributing to their suffering and displacement, as per Minority Rights Group – Bangladesh
