KUALA LUMPUR, 24 August 2025: In a move aimed at fostering national pride and facilitating travel during the National Day celebrations, all Light Rail Transit (LRT), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), and Monorail services will operate fully on August 30 and 31. This initiative is a part of the ‘Denyut Nadi Merdeka’ campaign, spearheaded by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, which operates the country’s public transport systems.
The announcement comes as Minister of Communications Datuk Fahmi Fadzil urged Malaysians to express their love for the country by flying the Jalur Gemilang.
This concerted effort by Prasarana, which also includes the distribution of 2,000 national flags, aims to encourage public participation in the festivities. Minister Fahmi Fadzil’s call to action is centered on promoting the flag as a symbol of national sovereignty, unity, and independence. His message emphasizes the shared responsibility of all Malaysians to celebrate the nation’s freedom with pride.

The minister’s personal involvement in distributing flags to commuters on an LRT train from Bangsar to Pasar Seni highlights the campaign’s focus on engaging the public directly.
The full operation of public transit services on these significant dates will allow citizens to conveniently travel to and from various patriotic events. The ‘Denyut Nadi Merdeka’ campaign extends beyond mere mobility, striving to position public transport as a force for national unity.
This initiative is a practical step towards achieving the broader goal of fostering a stronger sense of patriotism, a sentiment echoed by the minister’s call for citizens to participate in other patriotic programs scheduled until Malaysia Day on September 16.
