BANTING, July 12 – A historic milestone has unfolded for the Malaysian Hindu community as the first Adiyogi statue Malaysia officially opens at the century-old Sri Maha ShivaAmman Temple in Sungai Buaya, Banting. The highly anticipated spiritual landmark was consecrated on Sunday morning during a grand Maha Kumbhabhishegam (temple dedication) ceremony, drawing thousands of eager devotees from across the nation and neighboring countries.
The stunning monument brings a slice of sacred Indian architecture directly to local shores, mirroring the visual majesty of the world-famous 112-foot bust in Coimbatore, India. Crafted over a meticulous six-month period, the project relied on the specialized expertise of traditional sculptors flown in from India to ensure absolute architectural and scriptural authenticity.
Alongside the newly consecrated Adiyogi statue Malaysia, the sprawling temple complex has undergone a massive structural transformation. The site now boasts a magnificent Kasi Gopuram—modeled after the revered Kasi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi—as well as an entire dedicated Shiva shrine constructed completely from authentic, imported Indian granite.
“This new sanctuary allows local devotees to experience the profound spiritual grandeur of India’s most sacred landmarks right here at home,” a temple committee representative shared during the morning festivities.
The sacred consecration rituals peaked between 9:40 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. as priests poured sanctified water over the temple crests, signaling a vibrant new chapter for the historical site.
