KUALA LUMPUR — Sepang International Circuit (SIC) has officially opened volunteer applications for the upcoming Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, taking place from 2 to 4 October 2026.
The three-day event marks Formula 1’s return to the 5.5-kilometer Sepang track for the first time since 2017. Sepang stepped in to host the round following a joint agreement between F1, the FIA, and government officials after schedule adjustments displaced the original race in Sakhir.
Operational Roles and Stipend Details
Volunteers will assist race management across several operational areas, including:
- Guest Services & Accreditation: Managing spectator entry, VIP access, and credentialing.
- Logistics & Crowd Control: Supporting trackside operations and grandstand crowd flow.
SIC confirmed that recruited volunteers will receive a daily allowance of RM60, along with provided meals during their assigned shifts throughout the race weekend.
