7 FEBRUARY: Applications to enrol in public institutions of higher learning for the 2025/2026 academic session will be accepted via UPUOnline for foundation, certificate, diploma, and degree programs. The application process will begin on Monday (February 10) and will be open until March 14 for the first phase, while the second phase will run from April 14 to May 18.
The Higher Education Ministry announced on Friday (Feb 7) that applications are available for admission to 20 public universities, 36 polytechnics, 106 community colleges, and two institutions under the Mara Higher Education Division (Mara BPK).
Applications are open to holders of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), or equivalent qualifications. The first phase covers all academic programmes, while the second phase is limited to programmes that do not require interviews or tests.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to pursue higher education. “A total of 350 study programmes are offered to SPM graduates, while 1,131 study programmes are available for STPM/equivalent graduates at public universities, polytechnics, community colleges, and MARA BPK nationwide,” the ministry stated.
According to the Higher Education Ministry, the UPUOnline PIN number can be purchased from 350 BSN branch counters, 700 BSN Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), and myBSN Internet Banking starting February 9. Applicants must obtain this PIN before completing their application.
“BSN will issue the PIN number along with a copy of the payment receipt. Applicants are also advised to keep the payment slip as confirmation of a valid transaction,” the announcement stated.
