Police Arrest Two Students Over Newborn Stabbing In Kluang

JOHOR BAHRU — Police arrested two 19-year-old college students after a newborn baby girl died from stab wounds in Kluang.

Officers launched an investigation after a lecturer found the infant inside a student hostel in Taman Setia Mutiara.

Forensic tests at Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital confirmed the baby died from multiple chest stabs. Investigators seized a 24-centimetre knife and bloodstained clothing at the scene.

Medical staff later discovered a surviving twin in the mother’s womb. Doctors delivered the second baby girl safely at the hospital.

Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad confirmed officers detained the suspect’s boyfriend nearby. The court granted a seven-day remand order for the male suspect while the mother receives medical care.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
