8 OCTOBER: In a bid to promote the learning of Tamil, Raaj Tea Palace in Perai, Penang, is offering free Tamil language classes for primary school students, specifically from Standard 1 to 4. The initiative, spearheaded by the shop owner Mr. Raaj, aims to give young learners an opportunity to enhance their Tamil language skills at no cost. Classes will be conducted every Thursday from 7 PM to 8 PM, after the shop closes for the day.
Mr. Raaj’s dedication to this cause extends beyond merely organizing the classes, as he is also actively hiring and compensating qualified Tamil teachers to lead these sessions. By providing free tuition, Mr. Raaj hopes to nurture a deeper connection with Tamil among younger generations in the local community.
Held at the Raaj Tea Palace itself, the classes are limited to 44 participants, ensuring a more personalized learning experience for the students. Mr. Raaj’s initiative not only supports the preservation of the Tamil language but also offers an invaluable educational resource for the students.
Those interested in enrolling their children in these classes or applying to teach can reach out via WhatsApp at 0102467848. The initiative has already gained positive feedback, with many applauding Mr. Raaj’s dedication to fostering education and culture within the community.
