The incident occurred on November 6, 2024, during a school trip. The students began showing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea shortly after their meal.

Following the outbreak, the students were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Fortunately, most were discharged after receiving medical attention, while a few remained under observation. The Terengganu Health Department has initiated an investigation into the matter, focusing on the food preparation and handling practices at the resort.

Authorities are conducting tests on food samples collected from the resort to determine the cause of the food poisoning. In response to the incident, the resort management has expressed their commitment to cooperating with health officials and ensuring that all safety protocols are strictly followed.

Parents of the affected students have been informed about their children’s condition and are advised to monitor for any lingering symptoms. This incident has raised concerns about food safety standards in tourist establishments, prompting calls for stricter regulations and inspections to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The health department urges anyone who experienced similar symptoms after dining at the resort to seek medical attention immediately. The situation remains under close watch as investigations continue, as stated in The Star.
