INDIA, 8 May: “There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people,” declared Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, delivering a powerful message just two days after a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of 25 tourists and a local resident.
Addressing a public event in Madhubani, Bihar, Modi began with a moment of silence to honour the victims. He spoke with emotion, saying the entire nation mourns the loss. “Someone has lost a son, a brother, a life partner. The victims came from across India—Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Gujarat, and Bihar. From Kargil to Kanyakumari, there is grief and fury.”
He called the attack not just a strike on tourists but an assault on the soul of India. “The terrorists and their handlers will be punished beyond imagination,” he said, hinting strongly at Pakistan’s alleged involvement. “The time has come to raze what remains of the terror haven. The will of 140 crore Indians will break the back of terror masters.”
Shifting to English to address the international community, Modi declared: “India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the earth. India’s spirit will never be broken by terrorism. Terrorism will not go unpunished.”
He also expressed gratitude to global leaders and nations standing in solidarity with India.
This speech reinforces India’s zero-tolerance approach toward terrorism and sends a resolute message both domestically and internationally.
