SMK Banting Takes Home Gold in Kuala Langat District Kabaddi Championship

KUALA LANGAT, 05 August 2025: SMK Banting has been crowned the overall champion of the Kuala Langat District Level Kabaddi Championship for secondary schools, securing a combined score of 44 points across both male and female categories.

The competition took place at the Dewan Sri Jugra in Banting, with matches for females under the age of 18 and 15 held on July 31, 2025, and male matches on August 1, 2025.

The male teams from SMK Banting put on a strong performance, winning gold medals in both the under-18 and under-15 categories. The female teams also achieved notable success, finishing as second runner-ups in both the under-18 and under-15 categories.

Several students from the school were honored with individual awards for their outstanding skills. Ms. Yakshini Pathmanathan of SMK Banting was named Best Raider in the female under-18 category. For the male teams, Mr. Jeevithan Sivan received the Best Raider award in the under-18 category, while Mr. Rudra Thevan Sathiskumar, under the age of 15, was awarded Best Defender. The Best Player awards for males went to Mr. Darshan Loganathan (under-15) and Mr. Durai Naicker Pushpanathan (under-18).

The school extended its gratitude to the skilled Kabaddi instructors–Ms. Letchumy, Mr. Thanesh, Mr. Uthayakumar, and Mr. Hiswaran– for their invaluable assistance and guidance to the young players.
