14 shops demolished in Kampung Manickam

BANGI, Apr 7: The Selangor state government has demolished 14 shops owned by a group of low-income traders in Kampung Manickam Bangi Lama.

According to the traders, who have lost their source of income, the demolition was ordered by Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj).

Enforcement forces from the District and Land Office of Hulu Langat, Kajang Municipal Council and the Royal Malaysian Police were deployed today to conduct demolition of the shops located on government reserves.

The shops and stalls on government reserves in Kampung Manikam have been in operation for more than 30 years since.

The shops that operate there include tailors’ shops, car workshops and restaurants.
