GEORGE TOWN — A busy section of Jalan Magazine near Komtar will close in stages for three days starting August 7.
The Penang Mutiara Line project office announced that the closure will start at 10 p.m. on Friday. It will end at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 10.
Crews will close three lanes between Capri Hotel and The Magazine Hotel. However, the leftmost lane will stay open for daily drivers.
The temporary closure allows the Penang Water Supply Corporation to relocate underground utility pipes. This work supports preliminary construction for the Penang LRT Mutiara Line project.
Contractors advise drivers to use Jalan Maxwell, Lebuh Tek Soon, and Lebuh McNair as alternative routes. On-site flagmen and clear signs will guide traffic through the area.
