25th January 2025 : Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, secured their spot in the Indonesian Masters semifinals with a dominant 21-15, 21-16 victory over compatriots Wan Arif Junaidi and Yap Roy King on Friday, January 24, at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta. The duo showcased their strong form, having earlier defeated Indonesia’s legendary pair, Hendra Setiawan and Muhammad Ahsan, in the second round.
Wei Chong and Kai Wun will now face their seniors, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, in the semifinals on Saturday. Aaron-Wooi Yik, seeded second, cruised past South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk and Kim Won-ho with a comfortable 21-19, 21-15 victory in just 41 minutes, setting up an exciting all-Malaysian clash for a place in the final.
