7 FEBRUARY: The Education Ministry plans to implement a single-session system in all schools across the country by 2030, according to Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

She stated that Malaysia has over 10,000 schools, with more than 9,000 already using a single-session approach. “This is a positive development for our education system, as many schools have already adopted the single-session approach. However, there are still some issues that the ministry needs to address before implementing the system in all schools,” she said.

Fadhlina made these remarks while speaking to the media after attending a leadership session hosted by the National Public Administration Institute (Intan) on Thursday (February 6).

She emphasized that several factors must be considered before full implementation, including physical infrastructure, school grounds, and other managerial concerns.

“However, the ministry aims for all schools to operate in a single session to create a more welcoming environment for students. Over the next five years, we will tackle the issue of overcrowding by building new schools and modernizing existing ones to meet this target,” she added.
